WOW! I just can NOT believe it... I'm almost at a loss for words...
Jake called me LATE Friday evening, well, it was more like EARLY Saturday morning to tell me that he had just read his email and within a message he read
"You are ordered to Fort Campbell, KENTUCKY on June 16th"
What???? Are you serious???? I think those were some of the first things I asked him. :o)
This comes as a semi shock. We knew something would come of our prayers...He and I have been praying, and I have asked others to pray for us...to pray that God's Will be done in the coming months. Yes, we have a stable job and stable income now while Jake is in training but what about when this training ends??? Remember, Jake resigned from OCSO...it just wasn't the right fit for our family. So, we needed God's Will to be done in our next chapter in life.
God answered our prayers.
While I am SO excited...I'm also SCARED!!! Scared of the unknown. We've never lived ANYWHERE other than Jacksonville, Florida. Our kids were born here. Our family is here. Our church home is here. All of our friends are here....ALL WE KNOW IS HERE!
BUT, while I'm scared I know that God has BIG plans for us! He has something greater than Jacksonville, Florida waiting for us in Fort Campbell, Kentucky!
Oh, and for you all who are military or know much about the military...the BEST part of all of this to my hubs is that he's going to be with the 101st AIRBORNE!!! How cool is that??? He's SO excited! I think he's been telling me since the beginning of us that he would love to jump from airplanes. That doesn't excite me much...but to him??? It's CrAzy HOOAH! (that sounded SO civilian!!)
As I was searching for a verse to cling to for the next few months I found this... "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord ... "(Psalm 37:23) My hubby is SUCH a good man!
And then are these...Boy, God tells us SO many times in the Bible that He will lead the way. We just need to trust in Him!!!
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5)
Thus says the Lord, Your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go." (Isaiah 48:17)
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way should go; I will guide you with My eye." (Psalm 32:8)
"For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to death." (Psalm 48:14)
"The Lord will guide you continually ..." (Isaiah 58:11)
I think Proverbs 3:5 is my favorite though. I will write that one down on a few index cards and tape them all over the house! :o)
Oh. my. goodness ya'll....I'm moving to KENTUCKY!!!!!

Wayyyy back in the day when I was a flight attendant, Kentucky was one of my regular stops and I LOVED it. It's an absolutely gorgeous state. I always swore I'd live there someday.
(Now if you could just get to Kansas or Missouri, that would be AWESOME! I'd come see you often. :) )
WOW!!! What exciting news. We will be praying for you all as your prepare for this next step in your lives.
